flowing out from the Quelccaya ice cap in Peru shows both the
retreat of the ice tongue in 2000. The closest shore of the lake
approximates how far the margin of the ice extended in 1978.
The ridge line on the left and right of the glacial "trough"
are the moraines formed by the glacier's farthermost movement.
